I Have Committed A Crime…A Food Crime That Is!

20 Nov

Pumpkin Crunch Cake

This dessert is so rich,  it’s just plain criminal!

TWO sticks of butter and ONE AND A HALF cups of sugar,  you’ll  need to  temporarily change your name to Paula Deen before whipppin’ this bad boy up.

I CONFESS, I made it, I ate it and I don’t care who knows it!

If you wanna live on the edge, you can throw this together for your family. Just don’t them in the kitchen when your making it..wink, wink and you’ll get away with your crime!

Ingredients :

I changed it a little from the Original recipe: Pumpkin Crunch Cake

1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree  (this is a little soupy, you can use a little more pumpkin to make it thicker)

1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk

3 eggs

1 1/2 cups white sugar (reduce this to a cup, if you feel extremely guilty)

3 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

Pinch Salt

1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix

1 cup chopped pecans

1 cup unsalted butter

1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Directions

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease one 9×13 inch baking pan.

In a large bowl, combine pumpkin, evaporated milk, eggs, sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and salt.

Mix well, and spread into the prepared pan.

Sprinkle cake mix over the top of the pumpkin mixture, and pat down.

Sprinkle chopped pecans evenly over the cake mix, then drizzle with melted butter.

Bake for 60 to 80 minutes, or until done. Top with whipped topping when ready to serve.

(May want to give a disclaimer to diabetics and heart patients before they gobble this up for Thanksgivin’…lol)

Little Fall Haul

 Winter Beauty Kit

Doesn’t it feel like your being mummified alive in the Winter?

I used to have a strange addiction to Vaseline petroleum jelly. I would slather it on my face and hands nightly to bring them back to life and then I started thinking that petroleum didn’t have such a “natural”  ring to it, so I decided beeswax was a better alternative, hence the Burt’s.

This hand salve is a “farmers friend” and since I am a half ass farmer, why not have another friend around. The petroleum seems to do a better job and I don’t like the smell of this salve, but it’ll do, i guess.  I have only used the night cream once, but I love the smell and it made my face feel very soft and smoothy and downright radiant. So far so good!

Speaking of farming…. meet Lola and Sweet Tea!!

Madden Girl Zerge Boots

I had seen these Madden Girl Zerge boots before and thought they were the cats meow, so when I found them on sale at Belk’s,  I decided to go for it. They are not real leather, but don’t feel cheapy,  I think they are super stylish and unique with the red zipper and are a good height on your leg.  They also zip up over skinny’s without cuttin’ my circulation off.

Hamrick’s (not just for old ladies)

Got this cutie jacket from Hamrick’ s, don’t know if you all have one of these stores or not, but its a store that me and ALL the nice old Southern ladies shop at. Shopping here is like shopping with your Grandma even though its someone else’s Grandma. They make nice comments about what you have in your buggy and are just super friendly, even though you’re a stranger. Don’t be nervous about the large selection of polyesters Hamrick’s stocks.  I always seem to find cool things  in the sale or juniors section that I like.

Got this stuff as well…

Love this shirt, 5 bucks and the sleeves are KILLER! They are square! A little Gaga esque, I do believe.

See the sleeves:)

Love this DKNY Military tee

Slouchy Hats- you can never have too many.

Welp, that’s about it for now. Have you bought anything cute lately?

Happy Fall Hauling:)
