Let them Eat Cake!

19 May

I seem to have an obsession with ladies that lost their heads, Marie Antoinette and Anne Boleyn, being two of my favs.

I was looking for a shirt with Marie Antoinette on it and found this “Let Them Eat Cake tee” from Coco De Coeur. This shirt is the B-O-M-B and Hayley Williams from Paramore has been seen rocking this shirt and others from this line by Audrey Kitching. Will be puttin’ in an order for this puppy when I get moved.

Also, check out this sweatshirt that I found from Threadless… fun stuff!

Simple.Refreshing.Fancy. (no, not me silly…Flavored Water)

17 May

Who likes plain ‘ole water…not me!  I am always adding ingredients to my water bottle so that I can get myself some flava.

My favorite things to add are definitely mint and cucumber!  You can do just mint, just cucumber or add them both together.

Simple.Refreshing.Fancy. Make it for your husband, your family or friends on a hot day and they will show you some love!

Mint and Cucumber Water

Ingredients:
Plenty of ice cubes
1 gallon chilled water (purified water preferred)
1 medium cucumber
10 fresh mint leaves, rinsed

Directions:
1. Thin slice cucumber
2. Place cucumber slices in pitcher, punch bowl, or beverage jar
3. Slightly muddle or cut mint leaves to release flavor and place in serving container of choice
4. Add water and ice cubes
5. Stir mixture and let sit in refrigerator for four to eight hours to allow flavors to infuse into water
6. Mixture will last up to three days. Discard mixture once cucumber slices or mint starts to look slimy.

Pickled Feet and Fashion

16 May

Oh, it’s a fine Monday! I woke up to the birds singing and the sun shining and found that my feet and hands were back to their normal size again, well thank goodness!

I don’t like to gripe, okay, sometimes I do,  but the amount of salt in restaurant food is getting down right ridiculous!  Which brings me to an important question of the day,  Is there a government conspiracy or some evil mastermind curling a mustache somewhere with a plot to take over the world by pickling us all one at a time?

How much salt are these folks really using in my tasty restaurant cooked meal and is it really necessary? Next time I feel like going out to dinner, I think I’ll just stay home and eat a shaker full of salt. Do you have the sneaking suspicion you’re being pickled as well?

Okay, I’m done whining,  check out this pink fedora I scored at H&M and this black flower bracelet I got from Charming Charlie this weekend. Love these stores!

The Dish on Miss Trish!

12 May

Check out these swank-a-dank green patent daisy wedge sandals from Miss Trish of Capri, guest shoe designer for Target. I hooked myself up with a pair of these yesterday while browsing the shoe area at Target and I think these things are the cats meow!

The Good:

These sandals really have a high end look for $29.99! Your cute feet will definitely get some deserved attention with these bad boys that shout, HEY, look down here! I just love the detail with the little butterfly and best of all these shoes are surprisingly comfy.

The Bad:

They run a little on the small side, having a short front, so you may want to go up half a size. Lastly, these are potential ankle breakers,  if your clumsy like me. The wedge is pretty high which gives you great height but seems to make things a little unsteady. Hey, a girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do! Am I right? Have you ever risked life and limb in the name of fashion?

Thanks for stopping by, don’t forget to subscribe!

Summer Do!

10 May

Love this quirky, messy, loopy hairdo, definitely gonna rock this look for the summer!

Start by making three even ponytails just above the nape of your neck. Then, working from the outer ponytails in, make loops with small sections of hair; pin in place. To give hair more grip, spritz sections with hairspray before looping and pinning.

Here’s some other pretty styles from Glamour.com for your mop!

Oh, Heath Cake Your So Fine, Your So Fine You Blow My Mind, Oh, Heath Cake!

9 May

This weekend a friend of mine said she was making a heath bar cake for her Mother for Mothers day. So I politely told my husband that this heath bar cake would make a perfect Mothers day gift for Moi, seeing that I am a certified Heath bar maniac!

With only a couple of ingredients this cake was easy peezy,  so easy that your husband can bust one of these things out without breaking a sweat! This cake is heavenly unique with its moist texture that comes from the condensed milk and caramel that leaks down into the holes ya poke.  Also, I usually don’t like whipped topping, but it really worked on this cake as an icing.

I just had a piece of this stuff and it’s 8:30 in the morning! This is one those cakes that your tempted to lick the plate afterwards,  but it wouldn’t be very lady like {so just do it when no ones looking}.

Here’s what to do:

1 box Duncan Hines German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 jar caramel ice-cream topping
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 (2 oz.) package whipped topping, thawed
2 Heath Bars candy bars, broken up

Make cake according to directions on box. Remove from oven and immediately poke holes in the cake with the handle of a wooden spoon.
Pour caramel topping and sweetened condensed milk all over the cake, filling in the holes.
Let cool and put whipped topping and candy on top.

Fake Bake Yourself with Cocoa!

5 May

Hershey’s Cocoa, great for baking and also great for fake baking, your body that is!

Wanna  sun kissed bronzy look on the cheap, put a little cocoa on a brush and apply it to your cheeks.

Also, if your scared of using self tanners on your face and ending up like an Oompa Loompa for a week, cocoa can make a great temporary natural self tanner. You just mix a little cocoa with some white lotion and apply it on your face or whatever body part you want to tan up. {Hint: don’t over rub this stuff or you’ll get little choco-balls}

This is such a neat little cost effective and easy way to get a little color and it smells absolutely fantastical! You may need to steer clear of boyfriends, husbands and animals while wearing your cocoa, as this may cause them to wanna to lick your face!

If you have allergies,  you might opt to do a small test on your skin ahead of time.
