If you’re from the South, like I am. You know that we will fry just about anything and Shredded Wheat is one of those things that I like to fry. Okay, I know this sounds a bit strange, but it really is buttery and delicious!
What you need:
How to do it:
Soak cereal in milk for a minute or so on each side. Remove with a slotted spoon; drain slightly.
Put 2 dabs of butter in a skillet, place the shredded wheat on top of the butter, then place a dab of butter on the top of the wheat, brown on both sides, pressing down while frying.
Place your fried wheat in a bowl, pour some milk on top and add a sprinkle of sugar.
Yummy, buttery, sugary goodness!
So this morning I have chocolate on the brain, which brought chocolate sheet cake (also referred to as Texas sheet cake) to my evil piggy mind.
Boys and Squirrels, put your aprons ’cause looky what I found, a great recipe for The Best Chocolate Sheet Cake, Ever!!! No explanation needed as the title says it all, no kidding. As a little girl, my Gram used to bake this cake for me and I would gobble it up lickety split! So weight watchers beware.
The blog that I found this recipe on is Awesome with a capital A. The Pioneer Woman offers step by step picture perfect cooking instructions for less than stellar bakers such as myself. Thank you so much, Ree for taking the time to pioneer this cake so that others may have the pleasure of baking it. Your blog rocks!
So if I don’t post on Monday, you will know that I am balled up in a chocolate coma somewhere from all the sheet cake! It’s a risk, I’m willing to take…(dramatic sigh)
Ah…some things never change:) When I was a little girl, my brother and I used to gather up unwanted treasures from our rooms and meet up at the secret spot, otherwise known as the living room, for a good barter. This is what my brother and I referred to as “Merchan for Merchan”; which loosely translated is – your merchandise for mine.
Well, today I still play Merchan for Merchan, but I do it with Plato’s Closet. A cool little place where you can trade your used clothing for new and used clothing. They sell gently used brand name stuff, so it’s like having all the major stores in a mall, at one location and at cheaper prices.
I’m the type of person who gets very bored with wearing the same thing more than a few times. I like to mix it up. So this barter and trade system really works for me and you can get more for your money! I am all about quantity!
So here’s the cute summer Merchan I got today!
I got a super fly brown Fedora hat too!
It was a successful trade and a very good Plato Haul!
What do you get when you put together Gruyere Cheese, pronounced (Grew-yair), a tube of croissants and some chunk ham? You get the best ham cheesy poof on the planet. That’s what!
Make your own cheesy poofs:
Grate the Gruyere cheese. Gosh, I just love saying Gruyere, don’t you?
Place the croissants in a nonstick muffin tin
Fill with cheese and chunk ham
Fold in all the sides of the croissants until the cheese and ham are covered
Bake according to croissant directions
Reasons to love the cheesy poof:
Well, since everyone out there in the blogging world is doing a “What’s in your purse”? Why should I be left out. Here we go…
This is my fabulous bag that my nice husband bought me for Christmas. Kandee Johnson, one of my favorite style gurus has this bag and I just think it’s awesome! Everywhere I go, I get loads of compliments on it!
So what’s in this fabulous bag?
What U got in your purse?
When I found out that feather hair extensions are the hot new trend for Spring 2011, I almost fell off my chair. Feathers are completely FLY!
I shopped them around online and found a good deal on eBay, getting them for around a buck a feather. You also need to buy the silicone hair beads to install them in your hair. I bought 200 beads on Amazon for $11.
From what I’ve read, these extensions seem very easy to install, all you need is a pair of pliers and a hair hook (like the ones that come in a highlight kit). What’s cool about these natural feathers is that they can be styled, washed and curled right along with your regular hair and can last up to a month or so.
I am impatiently waiting on my feathers…please Mr. Postman, hurry up with the goods!
UPDATE: LOVE THESE THINGS!!!
Our good friend, Anna, came over yesterday to meet with my husband on some biz stuff. She also brought along some Avon goodies for me, love her! She pulled out a lipstick and asked if I wanted to try it out. I am usually just a lip-gloss girl and only use lipstick when I’m trying to really get my fancy on.
When she left I put it on and I really loved the color! My lips are chapped most of the time, but it felt really smoothy going on and the color is a pretty plum, without saying, “Um, your lips are purple”.
I just wanted to give Anna a shout out to thank her for my gorgeous lips!
If you wanna get gorgeous too, here’s the info!
Nappy days…those days when you want to throw on whatever’s in the bottom of your closet and don’t bother to brush your hair. It’s so easy to do when you’re a house mama. Note of Caution though regarding this fashion, If you’re not careful, the next thing you know people are handing you their spare change for food and shelter. I go through this phase every so often, but fortunately I am not in one right now, phew! I totally think your outward appearance has a direct correlation with how you feel on the inside. That’s why I thought you might appreciate a couple of reasons why you might consider dressing up everyday, that I found on this fashion blog!
A Few Reasons to Dress Up Everyday:
Do you like to dress up more often than not? What inspires your look? Your personality, the latest fashion, etc?
