Curious About Moi?

9 May

They say “curiosity killed the cat”, well that’s a relief, it didn’t kill the pig, so I’m feeling pretty safe right now.

I really don’t know exactly why… but I have always been curious about other people and the lives they lead.

So, if you’re feeling curious today ….here’s a peek into mine.

My Toaster. I use this sucker daily to cook my little waffles and it puts Hello Kitty’s face on them. Awwwww…

My immortal hermit crab. I have this crab for so long, I’ve lost track of how old it is.

My personal heater. Apparently, I was born cold-blooded.

My guest bathroom, where i keep this creepy chick  behind the curtain year round to scare people. Don’t tell them, okay:)

“Bob” one of my favorite things. He hangs around in my dining room. Sometimes, I say “Hi” to him.

The Babies. I have a collection of old spooky dolls that my daughter hates. She is my favorite.

This is how I brush my teefy’s.

This is my ride, Audi Q7.  I love this car very much.

Beer of Choice: “The Chuck”

This is what I do for fun.

This is how I tell time. Tokyo Bay Cuff Watch, love this guy so much!

My husband thinks I’m beautiful.

Well, there it is in all its reality glory. Two minutes, you’ll never get back, but now you know a little somethin’.

Come on, tell me something about you!

Keep Your Style “Hot” this Winter with Fur!

8 Nov

Just like Grandma's

Did your Grandma ever have one of these creepy little mink stoles? Well, mine did and I used to parade around in this bad boy as a little girl thinking I was the bees knees! Maybe that’s why I still love fur to this day.

I started seeing fur leg warmers last year, big trend in Tokyo, but since I lived in FL, they didn’t make much sense, now that I live in a place where my legs are actually cold, I can sport these bad boys all day long!

I got these at Claire’s and you can find them numerous places on the interwebs.

I think these warmers would be incredibly easy to make, so I am planning on visiting my local craft store and making my own custom fur leg warmers, leg cuffs and maybe a cool hand muff!

I also got this cool fur cuff last year that I love, you can find some really unique ones on Etsy.

Here’s some Tokyo inspiration for you if you wanna keep your style hot this winter;)

Eating My Cake: Coco De Coeur Tee

15 Aug

Coco De Coeur "Let Them Eat Cake" shirt

It took a little while but I finally rec’d my Coco De Coeur Let them eat cake tee.  It’s super soft and awesome!  I got mine in slouch neck, but you can get it in crew neck too. It’s a little pricey for a tee at $35,  but it was just something I had to have.  Love the slogan for Coco De Coeur”Born to Make a Mess”! Yep, that’s me….

I paired my tee with the jeans,  these awesome Mudd plum suede pumps and this leather flower cuff I got from Threads, a cool shop in downtown Aiken SC.

Leather cuff from Threads

I also threw some Lime Crime Dragon Scales magic dust on my eyes. This stuff is pretty rad and super pigmented. It’s like a brownie reddie dust with turquoise shimmer.

It was a good fashion day:)

Bandana Rama!

4 Apr

Bandanas… I am so lovin’ them right now!

I was in Wally World (Wal-mart) the other day, now I don’t generally like Wally World, I am a Target girl,  but I do happen to like Wally’s prices. So I am truckin’ along and I spot a whole shelf full of bandanas in all the colors of the rainbow and in lots of cute prints. At a buck a piece, I went for it! I am afraid that I now have a bandana addiction. They are just such a fun accessory that can be worn in so many different ways.  You can wear them on your head twelve ways to Tuesday, on your neck,  on your wrist, on your body and so forth. What I really like about them is that they don’t squeeze your brain like alot of headbands do, nobody likes a brain squeeze!

Did you know that you basically can rule the world with one of these chic pieces of cloth! Well, maybe not rule the world, but you can do alot of stuff. Here are some of the ways that I found to use them. What are some other ways that you would use a banadana?

  • A blind fold
  • To be a pirate
  • To be a bandit
  • If you don’t have a ball, you can tie a bandana up until it is a ball – this works in catching games, not so much for kicking games…
  • Hide a bad hair day
  • Get two bandanas, putt something comfy in the middle, sew it up, and ta-dah! Sit-upon! Actually, screw that, just sit on it
  • You can make potpourri satchels out of them
  • Little knapsacks / hiking stick bags
  • First aid – instant tourniquet
  • First aid – put between ice and skin
  • First aid – dip it in water and use as cool cloth for heat exhaustion
  • Hang it in a window to block the sun
  • Tent flap doesn’t have string? Tie it back with this!
  • Handkerchief / tissue … that is what they were made for you know
  • Cover your food to keep flies off
  • Wipe dust / dirt off the table
  • Tie it around stuff to keep it together
  • Connect two things that just couldn’t quite reach before
  • Wrap it around your hands to prevent rope burn
  • Use it to pick up small animals like frogs and toads and turtles so the oils from your skin don’t harm the animal
  • Place mats at a picnic
  • Three-legged races
  • Use it as a belt – you’ll need at least two
  • Wipe off a camera or mirror or even your glasses
  • First aid – use to apply pressure to bleeding
  • First aid – make a sling
  • Wrap gifts in them
  • Make a halter top
  • If you’re a hobo, you can store all your stuff in one (Mark, this one was for you)
